In feudal Japan, Prince Ashitaka, last in line to rule the Emishi people, finds himself afflicted with a terrible curse after coming into contact with the demonized boar god Nago. As his condition worsens, Ashitaka sets out on a perilous journey to the west in search of a cure, hoping to find salvation and restore his people's fading way of life. As he ventures further from home, Ashitaka crosses paths with San, a young human woman also on a quest for justice. Raised by wolves and known as Princess Mononoke, San has dedicated her life to protecting the forest and its inhabitants from the encroaching forces of humanity. With her spirit animal, Moro, by her side, she is determined to thwart the plans of the powerful Lady Eboshi, who seeks to exploit the natural resources of the forest for her own gain. As Ashitaka and San's paths continue to intersect, they find themselves drawn into a complex web of conflict and intrigue.
